Labyrinth is a mandala of sorts to contemplate the forces and concerns in our life path.  It is not a place of answers, but episodes in a non-linear journey.  Linear labyrinths first appear before 2000 BCE, and have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.

In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth was constructed to cage thehalf-man/half-bull, Minotaur, to protect society.  The Labyrinth symbolizes the journey to the unconscious to reconcile with our animal nature on a quest for wholeness.

We are all animals balancing the ideals of being perfect humans while pursuing our passions.  We are individuals and part of a family. We are stable yet mobile, peaceful  yet opportunistic, generous yet selfish. Dancing on the razor’s edge, we are noble savages balancing our wants with those around us.
